Posturology
Posturology is the medical science concerned with the study of posture, with the aim of identifying the causes of postural imbalances.
Since posture represents each individual’s adaptation to their physical, psychological and emotional environment — including the way we respond to gravity and interact with our surroundings — posturology is a multidisciplinary field involving several branches of medicine and healthcare, including dentistry, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, physiotherapy, dermatology, osteopathy, neurology, psychology, allergology and dietetics.
Postural adaptations begin during the school years and continue in the workplace. Postural disorders may be associated with headaches, back and neck pain, limb pain and difficulties in performing physical activities.

Postural assessment
A postural assessment is an examination designed to identify possible problems affecting the postural system, which regulates the relationship between our body and the surrounding environment.
The postural system results from the interaction of several systems: visual, podalic, vestibular, stomatognathic and musculoskeletal.

GPS postural assessment
Body posture plays an increasingly important role both in people affected by a wide range of conditions and during growth. The GPS is a diagnostic system designed to assess the patient’s static and dynamic posture.
The GPS consists of several diagnostic units positioned on platforms and connected to a computerised system. Photographs of the patient can be taken using two webcams and can also be printed and stored for comparison during subsequent examinations. The entire system is managed using dedicated PC software.

Postural exercises
Postural exercises are a series of exercises designed to restore muscular balance. They consist of movements aimed at improving posture and body control and can target areas of the body affected by stiffness or pain.
These exercises can have both therapeutic and preventive purposes and aim to retrain the body to perform movements correctly and maintain appropriate posture during everyday activities.

Cervical test
The Cervical Test uses a digital electronic headset for postural analysis to assess head movements in space.
The digital electronic headset is connected to a computer, which displays the recorded measurements so that they can be compared with those obtained during subsequent examinations.
From a functional perspective, rotation, flexion-extension and right or left lateral flexion of the head are important parameters for assessing symmetry and the normal range of head movement.

Podoscopic examination
The podoscope is an instrument used to assess the plantar footprint by analysing the distribution of weight across the feet, with different light intensities highlighting the main support points.
