Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves emitted by a special probe placed on the patient’s skin. It allows real-time visualization of internal organs, glands, blood vessels, subcutaneous structures, as well as muscles and tendons in different areas of the body.

During the examination, the area to be evaluated is covered with a non-toxic gel that improves the transmission of ultrasound waves through the body.

Ultrasound examinations are widely used to assess the neck (thyroid and lymph nodes), abdomen (liver, kidneys, spleen, pancreas), pelvis (bladder, uterus, ovaries, prostate), arteries and veins (carotid arteries, aorta), as well as the musculoskeletal system (muscles, tendons and ligaments).
