DENTAL CLINIC

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry focuses on the treatment of decayed teeth and on procedures used to remove decayed enamel and dentine.

Dental caries can be superficial or deep. In the case of superficial decay, the affected enamel and dentine are removed and the tooth is restored using modern aesthetic composite materials.

In cases of deep decay, the dental pulp, which contains nerve fibres, may also be affected. In these cases, root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, may be required.

At our Dental Clinic, silver amalgam is no longer used due to its mercury content. Existing amalgam fillings can be replaced using appropriate protective procedures designed to minimise the patient’s exposure to mercury particles.
