Treatment of attention disorders
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, is a developmental disorder of self-control. It involves difficulties with attention and concentration, impulse control and activity levels. These difficulties are primarily related to the child’s ability to regulate their behaviour according to the passage of time, the goals to be achieved and the demands of their environment. It is important to clarify that ADHD is not a normal stage of development that every child must overcome, nor is it the result of ineffective parenting or the child’s “bad behaviour”.
ADHD can significantly affect the individual, their family and school life, and often represents an obstacle to achieving personal goals.

Individual psychodiagnostic assessment
Psychodiagnostics is the discipline concerned with psychological assessment, separate and distinct from psychotherapy. It involves identifying and evaluating signs that help define the child’s overall personality profile through clinical interviews, psychological tests and observational assessments.
The techniques and tools used vary according to the context and purpose of the assessment, as well as the age and specific difficulties of the person being assessed.
The results of the assessment help clarify the individual’s psychodynamic functioning and identify possible strategies for addressing the difficulties presented.

Study skills training
During the first sessions, the therapist gets to know the students, establishes a positive relationship with them and assesses their cognitive style and approach to studying.
Students are then guided through a programme covering different aspects of study methods, with the aim of progressively developing greater awareness and independence: understanding their own cognitive and learning style; becoming aware of how they study; exploring and applying key study strategies; creating and using diagrams and mind maps; remembering information; presenting what they have learned orally; reviewing and preparing for oral and written tests; understanding motivation, emotions and attributional styles related to studying; and finally developing a new personalised study plan.
Particular attention is given to metacognitive aspects—such as reducing impulsivity, encouraging a more attentive approach to studying, stimulating reflection, monitoring comprehension and developing self-assessment—as well as to the emotional and motivational aspects of learning.

Psychoeducational counselling for parents
Psychoeducational counselling provides support for parenting and offers parents an opportunity to explore, clarify and improve their educational approach and family communication. It provides guidance in addressing the everyday challenges of parenting, including integrating different parenting styles, understanding children’s developmental changes, dealing with concerns related to their children’s difficulties, identifying effective educational and communication strategies for specific situations, and strengthening their own parenting resources and skills.
